Four Seasons Hotel George V – Paris - France
Art Deco monument built in 1928, it is located in the golden triangle of Paris.
We have been participating in its renovation for more than fifteen years both in the public areas La Galerie and the gastronomic restaurants (Le Cinq, Le George and l’Orangerie) and the Suites & 5-star Spa.
For La Galerie, a major work of decoration of windows was carried out.
Very high heights – treated in a modern classical decor style – involve several know-hows.
We called on a tucker to make the curtain borders in a “old pleated style”.
The embroidery – by Les Ateliers 2M – found on these fabrics of scalloped decors is applied in pleated checker board, embellished with metal & mother-of-pearl beads.
Monumental tiebacks were specifically designed by the Passementerie de l’Ile de France for this project. These tiebacks, each weighing 25kg, are suspended by a very long reinforced cable which final tassel is also decorated with metal and mother-of-pearl beads.
In the restaurant l’Orangerie – which bays are arched – organza roman blinds allowing the control of light were created to measure and motorised.
The restaurant Le George has walls covered with diamond-shaped leather tiles with “saddle stitches”.
The decorative curtains – made of cashmere wool – are embellished with metal embroidery designed by the Atelier Montex.
In the Suites, most of the bed frames are covered with leather with brass legs.
All the decors and curtains – on which custom-made passementerie has been applied – are motorised.
In the Penthouse Suite – located under the roof – on the terrace, we have participated in the renovation of the window decors, tapestries, furniture & bedding.
The wall on the headboard side is made of tiles covered with silk. A mother-of-pearl bead at each corner magnifies the whole.
The petticoat of the dressing table was treated with a “honeycomb head” decorated with passementerie.
The porch of the Suite dans le Ciel is a haven; curtains and walls are adorned with a large floral patterned fabric that offers a very intimate space.
In the other Presidential Suites,we took care of all the tapestries and other wall hangings, window decors (curtains, under-curtains, sheers and roman blinds), all motorised.
The headboards and bed frames – embellished with bronze legs – are covered with leather with a “saddle stitch” finish.
On the walls of the cabins and in the common area of the 5-star Spa, our job was to hang patterned silks. Leather benches were made to measure in the alcoves.
